Vans Warped Tour’s 2014 Indianapolis stop was a bright, sunny day full of good bands and good times. This year’s tour included over 70 bands on 9 stages. After almost 20 years the tour is as strong as ever. While I would love to mention everything that went on that day here’s a few of my favorite performances.
Early in the day Born of Osiris was up getting the crowd warmed up over on the Monster Stage. The crowd ended moving early and often with them, and chanting along with almost every song. The band had monstrous amount of energy to kick off the day. Sometime later on I found myself over watching For Today over at the Kia Soul stage. They were aggressive and in the crowds face the entire time; not to mention a decent message to give while on stage. Overall they killed it beginning to end. Circling to Keith Buckley’s commands, the crowd erupted early and stayed ferocious. The Monster Stage this year is where I found myself wanting to be most of the day. The stage displayed quite a few good hard hitting acts that knew how to work a crowd. All in all my single favorite part of the day was watching the fans. These are the same fans, young and old, coming out for almost 20 years to jam out with so many great acts. They definitely made Warped Tour what it is today.
