Kesha stood on the Ruoff Music Center stage in Noblesville, Ind. looking out over a sold out 20,000+ fan-filled amphitheater, celebrating her first show as an independent artist.
“I Haven’t sung a lot of these songs in 13 years,” she told the crowd, “I’ve gone in and removed all the original production and reproduced them myself.
“I have had these songs taken from me, but I love them and I wrote them for your will you help me take back my songs tonight?,” she asked the crowd, who erupted with love and excitement.
She opened the show with “TiK ToK,” emerging from under the stage adorned with angel wings before unloading one of the most emotionally authentic shows you’ll see.
It didn’t take long before Kesha and her dancers left the stage and danced through the amphitheater, Kesha on the shoulders of her dancers, telling fans to make sure they were able to touch her, telling them how much she loves them and thanking them for everything.
The videography and cinematography of the performance was elegant, creative and stunning. There were cameras above the stage and on the sides of the stage, capturing the action up close from an angle you rarely see at concerts, making you feel like you were on the stage with Kesha.
It was a night of stories and reflection, but also an evening of theatrical antics for a show that was sexy, tantalizing, inspirational, vulnerable, honest, awe-inspiring and visually gorgeous.
Kesha took time to really open and bear her soul to the fans, explaining what she’s been through mentally, emotionally and professionally over the last few years and showing her fans her true appreciation for continuing to support her and helping her celebrate her freedom.
If you’re a longtime Kesha fan, this is the tour you’ve been waiting for, but if you weren’t a fan going in, there were numerous things to take away and fall in love with but, more importantly, find a respect for Kesha- the artist- that you didn’t before.
Aptly named The Freedom Tour, the trek wrapped itself up at this show and it was the perfect way to wind things down for a tour that saw Kesha and her fans rediscovering who she is as an artist as well as a human being and fans were ready for another round as soon as the show ended.
