Waylon Speed’s forthcoming
Valance album is one that will make you take a second glance and take you by surprise.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got this album to review and, after listening to it, I’m torn on how to describe it. I’m just speechless.
From the onset of the opening song, “Beef Jerky and Beer,” the album has a very distinctive country sound and then goes straight into a southern rock ditty.
There’s a little bit of something for everyone on
Valance, with Waylon Speed offering up some bluegrass, country, rock, southern rock, metal and more.
There’s no telling what this band really has up their sleeve and in their arsenal because they’re one of the most musically diversified bands I’ve heard in quite some time.
Massive props to Waylon Speed for taking it to us from every direction and making no apologies whatsoever.
