My section this month is about the 2010 “Gathering of the Juggalos” incident regarding female “sensation” Tila Tequila being allegedly attacked by the crowd. This did not happen the way the pop princess claims.
If you followed chat sites in the months leading up to The Gathering you would see that there were warning signs of throwing objects at the performer. The band in charge of the festival [Insane Clown Posse] had print outs that they showed Tequila of the warnings and even let her know that she would still get paid if she skipped her performance. She went on stage regardless. The fans began throwing things, as she had been warned. Next, Tequila flashed the audience, provoking the already aggravated crowd. She claimed the fans beat her down and chased her to her trailer.
However, when talking to the press from “TMZ” she said, “the conditions were horrible. They didn’t even give me a trailer.”
This is a contradiction all by itself.
Then there is the Youtube footage of the performance that allows viewers to witness the performance in its entirety, from the throwing to the end of the show. The video shows her leaving the stage.
I will say a few things in Tila Tequila’s defense, though. The crowd should not have been throwing batteries and rocks at her. If they were going to do that they should not have aimed for her face. The eggs and water balloons were funny, however. The only thing funnier than the whole incident was the obvious lies she told to the press about it. She said, and I quote, “I’m going to sue the Insane Clown Posse and the leader of the juggalos.”
Now, I am a juggalo so I can honestly say the juggalo movement is too vast and big to have a leader. The only response the lead singer of the band had when he heard this from Tequila was a big, long, loud laugh.
I believe the juggalos over Tequila because she wants more popularity and a court case. It is the nature of the rich and famous. All most people care about is money, fame, and more money and they will lie to get it.
One thing is for sure after looking into this incident. Whether it is the truth or a lie, the public will believe a semi-attractive pop queen against 9,000 people in face paint who listen to prenatally unacceptable music.
