A Skylit Drive Announce Pre-Order for New Album

A Skylit Drive has been teasing a big announcement for the last few months by way of releasing several videos featuring vocalist Michael “Jag” Jagminand guitarist Nick Miller performing acoustic renditions of songs from their recent album Rise. Last week, the news broke that the band has in fact recorded an acoustic re-invention of their critically acclaimed album in the form of Rise: Ascension and it will be released via Tragic Hero Records on January 6th.
Today, you can pre-order the album and receive an instant download of the first single \”Pendulum.\” For the new record, the band enlisted platinum producer Jim Wirt (Incubus, Something Corporate, The Rocket Summer) who worked with the band on the pre-production of Rise. They didn’t simply plug in acoustic guitars and record coffee shop versions of the songs however; they instead re-worked the pieces into standalone compositions featuring piano, cello, bass, and other assorted instruments.
In promotion with the new record, A Skylit Drive has released a brand new line of merch available exclusively through the Tragic Hero Records online store.
Great vision, that’s what it takes to refuse to rest on previous success and instead focus on what you need to become in the future, which is exactly what Lodi, California’s A Skylit Drive continues to achieve with every album. Vocalist Michael “Jag” Jagmin, guitarist Nick Miller, and keyboardist Kyle Simmons, officially exploded onto the scene in 2007 with their EP She Watched the Sky. They followed that release up with three full-length albums titled Wires and the Concept of Breathing, Adelphia and Identity on Fire, which all charted on the Billboard Top 200, and their live DVD Let Go of the Wires.
A Skylit Drive has toured extensively with similar artists like Blessthefall, Sleeping with Sirens, Pierce the Veil, and Of Mice & Men; as well as contributing songs to the well known compilations Punk Goes Classic Rock and Punk Goes Pop Vol 4. A Skylit Drive’s musical resume would be enough of a career for most bands, but they have no intentions of slowing down. In fact, the band believes they are just hitting their stride. They released their new album Rise to critical acclaim and assured their fans that this was just a taste of things to come. It joins the essential characteristics of A Skylit Drive’s signature sound heard on Wires and the Concept of Breathing while showcasing a wide spectrum of tones, textures and song structure. Recently, the band announced that they will be releasing Rise: Ascension on January 6th, an acoustic re-invention of their critically acclaimed full-length.
