Skeletonwitch announce headline tour

Skeletonwitch have proven time and time again that hard work pays off, as most recently showcased from the success of their latest critically-lauded release \”Serpents Unleashed,\” which landed the Ohio quintet at #62 on Billboard\’s Top 200, their highest chart position to date. This fall, the band will continue to live up to their reputation as one of the hardest-working bands in heavy metal, as they\’ve just announced a headlining jaunt throughout the U.S. featuring support from Ghoul and Black Anvil. The tour will kick off in early September and lead directly into another tour with Amon Amarth and Sabaton, which includes an appearance in Brooklyn to celebrate Decibel Magazine\’s 10th anniversary. Overall, the group will play more than 50 North American shows over a two-month period, which recalls the 63-gigs-in-65-days whirlwind tour the band successfully completed to wrap up the \”Forever Abomination\” tour cycle in 2012. In addition, Skeletonwitch will spend several weeks overseas this summer, where they will perform dates with Suffocation and Havok in addition to appearances at festivals such as Brutal Assault, and Summer Breeze. A full listing of dates can be found at the bottom of this page. \”Serpents Unleashed\” — currently available as an extremely limited-edition picture disc — was included on several Best-of-2013 lists (Decibel, Pitchfork, Revolver, PopMatters) while being lauded as \”the heaviest record (they\’ve) ever made\” by A.V. Club, who praised its \”galloping intensity and nervy melodicism.\” Shortly following its release, the band announced a limited-edition, hand-screened vinyl edition that sold out in under five minutes, of which 100% of profits were donated to two no-kill animal shelters in Ohio.
