Sixx A.M. to bring Modern Vintage to Chicago\’s Vic Theater

In 2007 Nikki Sixx published The Heroin Diaries, his memoir that captured the year his life spiraled out of control, leading to a heroin overdose. Following the book, Sixx formed Sixx A.M. with acclaimed producer/vocalist James Michael and guitarist DJ Ashba. Together, they recorded a soundtrack to the book as well as two follow-ups since their inception. Though they’ve been together for eight years, Sixx A.M. have only toured once- as opening support for Motley Crue’s first Crue Fest and fans have been rabid for a headlining tour ever since. Enter 2015 and the band’s third record- Modern Vintage released last October and they finally have given the fans what they want- a full headline tour with support from Apocalyptica, who’s latest record, Shadowmaker releases on April 21. The tour is well underway and comes to Chicago’s Vic Theater on Monday, April 20- just one day before Shadowmaker hits stores. With three albums of music- most of which has never been played live, Sixx A.M. have a tall order ahead of them, trying to play everything fans have been dying to hear live as well as supporting the new record, which is by far the band’s most eclectic album yet. The show starts at 7:30 on April 20 with doors at 6:30. Vamps will be opening the show, followed by Apocalyptica and Sixx A.M. finishing off the night.
