The Scarlet Society – Who\’s Voice Will Rise

by: Reggie Edwards \"Scarlet The Scarlet Society’s new EP, “Who’s Voice Will Rise,” serves up a dose of in-your-face Jesus metal that will knock you to the floor. Giving a mix of AFI and Demon Hunter, the EP starts with a very high-energy, fast-paced opening song that entices the listener and pulls them in for more. The Scarlet Society does something that is very interesting on a few of the songs. Instead of softer songs that have heavy breakdowns, they switch it around and offer up heavy, adrenaline-pumping experiences that slow it down with soft, acoustic breakdowns. The two songs that stick out are track two, “The Cessation,” which mixes an original metal song with a popular praise song saying “Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come.” The other is the final track, “Legion.” “Legion” is an interesting song. The song is about Jesus praying in the garden before he goes to be crucified and the demon, Legion, whom Jesus encountered in the past is haunting him. It is a very interesting, well-written and enjoyable song. The majority of the songs on “Who’s Voice Will Rise” will be stuck in your head for days at a time and will make you want more from The Scarlet Society. Rating- 7/10
