Stoner rock is on the rise lately. With bands like Clutch and High on Fire growing in popularity, more stoner rock-infused bands surfacing is just inevitable- which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Pillbuster are the latest band to emerge onto the scene and their self-titled debut is set to release this August.
Overall,
Pillbuster is a good record. Their musical talent is clear and the gritty vocals add to the faint blues elements the band uses.
If you like bluesy stoner rock, this is the next record for you. The only downside is a lot of the songs sound a lot alike. The positive, though, is that it doesn’t take away from the overall experience of the record.
Pillbuster have put together a decent record here and they can do some great things in support of it if they play their cards right.
