Otherwise continues rise to the top in Fort Wayne

When Otherwise comes to down you know it\’s gonna be a hell of a show. The added bonus for fans is that they usually tour with a headliner who\’s either just as good or better. When they hit Fort Wayne\’s Pieres Entertainment Center recently, such was the case when they rolled through with Devour The Day and Three Days Grace. Otherwise kicked it off- as they usually do (they really need to be headlining or second on the bill now)- and did so with show-stealing poise. They threw in the Otherwise show staples in “Die For You,” “Soldiers,” “Darker Side of the Moon” and a few more but also included “Meet Me in the Dark” and “For the Fallen Ones” from their sophomore record- Peace At All Costs. As always, they were a force to be reckoned with on stage and left it all up there, giving the next two bands a run for their money. Frontman Adrian Patrick is always a beast on stage- his body motions and facial expressions some of the most powerful and the things he says in between songs are always inspirational, which is something we need more of in today\’s music world. New bassist Tony Carboney has taken the role with no hesitation and, if you didn\’t know he just came on in December, you\’d think he\’s always been in the band. If you want one of the best shows in all of music, Otherwise is the band to check out. They say there aren\’t many bands who can be the future of rock and roll but Otherwise is one of them. Not long after they wrapped things up, Devour The Day took over to keep the party going and cranked the energy up even more. By the time they finished up, the building was so full you couldn\’t even walk and could barely move. However, after almost an hour-long set change, Three Days Grace took the stage and exhausted whatever was left in the capacity crowd. With new frontman Matt Walst at the helm, Three Days Grace has new life and is stronger than ever. Their latest record- Human– had two no. 1 singles before even being released. Currently on the road, it\’s clear Three Days Grace is only getting stronger. -Reggie Edwards Due to camera difficulties, photos are unavailable for this show
