Morello Vs Masaru Mitsu: The Duellists review

Listening to The Duellists by Morello Vs Masaru Mitsu was not at all what I thought it would be. I was definitely not anticipating the variety of sounds that can be found on this album. There are no two tracks that sound alike, from the all falsetto notes in “European Ride” to the ballad that is “The Time to Know You Well.” Honestly, the band has a lot of talent and I really liked the “In-A-City.” However, as great as their music sounds, I found their lyrics to be lacking. I’m the kind of person that looks for meaning and the kind of deep one-liners you can carry with you forever within lyrics. I didn’t find any of that in this album, as they seemed to stay with the simplest rhyming words available. Rating: 7/10 -Nicole Cooper
