Live: DevilDriver, Cane Hill, King Parrot in Indianapolis

Fall tends to be the time of year when touring is on its last full-speed leg of the year- not many bands do long tours in the Winter. One of the biggest tours of this Fall features a major package in Superjoint, DevilDriver, King Parrot, Cane Hill and Child Bite, which recently hit Indianapolis’ Vogue Theatre for a night of pure brutality and aggression.
After Child Bite started the night off early, Cane Hill took the stage for a strong, powerful set but it was unfortunately hard to see the band with the low lights, which didn’t take away much from the set but it was frustrating.
The band’s performance was one to be remembered, with the band demanding nothing short of 100% from the crowd and showing the Indianapolis fans why they’re one of the fastest-rising bands in all of metal right now.
Not long after they wrapped up, Australia’s King Parrot took over and took the energy up a few levels. Imagine Hatebreed with the vocals of Brian Johnson from AC/DC and that’s what you have with King Parrot- it’s pretty much the most amazing thing ever.
With vocalist Mr. White and bassist Slatts dancing and running around the stage shirtless and throwing water onto the crowd, it was nothing short of fun to watch. Performance-wise, these guys are absolutely flawless. King Parrot’s set in Indianapolis was pure intensity and it was one that will be talked about long after the show was over.
DevilDriver was up next and played a short and sweet, nine-song set that saw frontman Dez Fafara running from one side of the stage to the other, commanding every inch of the crowd to get involved in any way possible.
They even took the set back to the first record from 2003 with a few songs. As far as a performance, this was pure devastation and one that ranks right up with the top of the band’s sets they’ve played in Indianapolis.
After a dominant set from Superjoint to close out the night, the fans left the venue ready for the next show and ready to see these guys again.
