Live: Brantley Gilbert in Noblesville

Today’s country music is not like what our parents or grandparents listened to with Cash, Hank, Willie and Waylon, What country music was founded on add a little hell-raising kick ass rock and roll into that mix and you get Brantley Gilbert. Brantley Gilbert brought all that and more to the Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center on Saturday night to 15,000 plus country music fans and maybe even some that were not fans of country music before he took the stage for his hour and a half set of songs about love, \”you don’t know like I do” getting rowdy on “The Weekend”  and “Read me my Rights”, taking a break from life and hitting the dirt road “Dirt Road Anthem” and the good ol’ USA with “One hell of an Amen”. Brantley did not disappoint the crowd with his set list including special guest that got the crowd warmed up Lindsey Ell and Michael Ray who has toured the local scene in Indianapolis for a few years.  Lindsey Ell came out rocking her guitar and performed a great set off her current album. Michael Ray did the same as well interacting with the crowd and letting them help sing his songs. Both made a special appearance during Brantley’s set as Michael Ray came out to help with “Small Town Throwdown” and of course Lindsey came out to help with “What Happens in a Small Town” which the crowd went crazy for. He finished his set with “Bottoms Up” to a capacity crowd. -Brien Mitchum
