John Cena: Greatest Rivalries DVD review

There may be no superstar in WWE history who’s been as polarizing with the WWE Universe than John Cena. Love him or hate him, he’s worn the WWE banner with pride and respect for over 10 years and isn’t slowing down anytime soon. When someone has as much tenacity and fight as Cena, they’re gonna make some enemies and have some rivalries. To celebrate the ongoing storied career Cena has had so far, WWE is set to release a DVD commemorating some of his greatest ones, thusly titled John Cena: Greatest Rivalries. With this DVD set we see John Cena talking about every feud and matchup in detail, discussing what he learned from each opponent and how each rivalry helped him grow as a competitor. The menu screen is one of the standout aspects of the DVD collection. Set up just like a classic arcade game, it’s like going back in time seeing who’s coming up next to face Cena, each picture pixelated to add to the vintage vibe. Cena’s opponents include Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, Batista, Edge, Triple H, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, JBL and The Rock. There’s even a match between Cena and Batista from Ohio Valley Wrestling when they were known as The Prototype (Cena) and Leviathan (Batista). You can probably expect a second installment of this DVD collection in the future as Cena has already had some great rivalries leading up the DVD release, including Bray Wyatt and Brock Lesanar in 2014. There could even be a DVD for Cena’s rivalry with Randy Orton alone. If you’re a member of the Cenation this is a must-have. If you’re a fan of good wrestling and storylines, you may want this one too. Most of all, any WWE fan needs to go pick this up on its release date- no questions asked. Rating: 9/10 -Reggie Edwards
