The second stop of Halestorm and I Prevail’s co-headline tour took place in Noblesville recently and was plagued with a long rain delay to kick things off, scrapping Fit For A King’s set and shortening Hollywood Undead’s.
Hollywood Undead took the stage and didn’t waste any time, cutting out a few songs and hitting the crowd with nothing but the hits and turning the show into a full-fledged party from the start.
The crowd was deafening and ready to party from the start and the band made sure to get them going, chugging beers, dancing and doing things like only Hollywood Undead can do.
I Prevail was up next and hit the crowd with a longer set that was loaded mainly with songs from Trauma and True Power along with their cover of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space,” which unclean vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe admitted that he doesn’t enjoy playing live.
That’s one reason fans love the band so much- they’re honest and authentic. Later in the set, clean vocalist Brian Burkheiser told the crowd that he had recently had surgery to take care of a serious illness in his throat and that he wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to do the tour. He promised the crowd that he was giving them all he had and that he needed them to give him all they had and they were not afraid to do so. The set was balanced almost to perfection between the heavy and melodic songs and was exactly what any I Prevail fan wanted to see.
Halestorm closed the night out with a set that was honestly hard to see between the low lights and the bright LEDs and strobes. Aside from that, the band sounded flawless.
Lzzy Hale was lit best out of the band members and she prowled around the stage like an animal possessed with the spirit of Janis Joplin, screaming with her raspy voice, sometimes crawling across the stage as well.
Halestorm have always been gracious and thankful to the fans who come out and see the show and this show was no different. The amount of humility exuding from the stage was infectious as was the carnal energy.
Halestorm are still operating at a top level and there’s no denying they’re the present and the future of rock and roll personified.
