Century Media Records’ Girl on Fire may be the next big thing in rock. July 9 will see yet another impressive debut released via Century Media when Girl on Fire releases their debut full-length,
Not Broken
Formed in Seattle, where the rock and roll history is vast and rich, Girl on Fire definitely bring the heat and are no stranger to the rock industry. Their debut EP,
Revenge, did very well and earned them a spot in a California showcase where they earned their spot on Century Media Records.
Ever since signing with the label, it’s been a whirlwind of business for Girl on Fire with a trip to the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in April as well as a spot on the Welcome to Rockville festival with bands like Shinedown, Lynyrd Skynyrd and labelmates In This Moment, Buckcherry and Otherwise- who’s debut full-length was released via Century Media last summer and put them on many major tours and festivals.
Guitarist Nick McMahan says the festival experience was surreal with many of their label reps standing sidestage watching, celebrating and high-fiving them when they left the stage.
The lead single, “The Takedown,” sums up what Girl on Fire are all about- in-your-face hard rock that comes straight from the heart and doesn’t let up.
With a tour with Buckcherry on the horizon, come July the world should be theirs for the taking. Girl on Fire may just be the next big thing in rock and when
Not Broken releases, all Hell should break lose for the band.
McMahan took some time on one of their off-days to talk with The Front Row Report about the process of writing, recording and finishing the album, the festival experience, coming out of Seattle and much more. The interview can be heard in its entirety below.
