Guitarist Jason Hook introduced his new band FLAT BLACK last year. The former Five Finger Death Punch guitarist teamed up with a trio of young and talented musicians and signed with Fearless Records. Their debut album Dark Side of the Brain arrived last summer. The album was produced by Hook and Chris Collier (Korn), and recorded at both Hook’s home studio and The Hideout. Get it here or here.
Today, the band has released the acoustic version of the single “Sideways,” which was recorded live at SiriusXM Octane.

“Hard rock and metal isn’t just a sound, it’s an attitude and a vibe,” says Hook. “Sometimes, it’s Marshall stacks and pyro in an arena, and sometimes, it’s stripped down to its most vulnerable components. We could not be more stoked to be asked by SiriusXM Octane to launch their new acoustic series and we are excited to share it worldwide with this release.”
Flat Black are also launching a guitar contest today, Friday, April 25. They are giving away a signed Epiphone Hummingbird Aged Antique Natural Gloss guitar in partnership with Gibson Gives.
