Dead Daisies drummer Brian Tichy talks touring with KISS and Def Leppard
What makes a good supergroup? The music? The shows? The fans? The answer is all of it and The Dead Daisies are the latest collection of noteworthy musicians to branch out from their respective bands and come together to create something new.
2013 saw The Dead Daisies embark on the annual Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival trek with Alice in Chains, Jane\’s Addiction, Danko Jones and more. In support of their debut EP, that was the perfect tour for the band and 2014 sees the band hitting the road even more.
The summer of 2014 saw The Dead Daisies traveling the country as direct support on tours for Bad Company, Lynyrd Skynyrd, KISS and Def Leppard. With another EP, Face I Love, fresh in the rear view, these two tours come at the best possible time and showcases the band in front of upwards of 20,000 people every night- sometimes more.
Consisting of Dizzy Reed (Guns n Roses), Richard Fortus (Guns n Roses), Brian Tichy (Billy Idol/Ozzy/Whitesnake), Marco Mendoza (Thin Lizzy/Whitesnake), Jon Stevens (INXS) and David Lowry (Red Phoenix), The Dead Daisies are no strangers to the big stages, larger-than-life crowds and are experienced when it comes to long tours.
Face I Love shows a different side of each member and isn\’t at all what you might expect. Rather than an in-your-face straight rock and classic metal record, it\’s a more soul-filled, funk-based rock record and a breathe of fresh air in today\’s rock world.
Drummer Brian Tichy recently sat down with The Front Row Report to talk about the band\’s touring and more:
