Big Idea Announces New, Long-Term Agreement With Capitol Christian Distribution

Big Idea Entertainment, a division of DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc., and Capitol Christian Distribution, the market leader in Christian and Gospel music distribution, have announced a new, long term agreement. The new affiliation with Big Idea Entertainment will now make Capitol Christian Distribution the Christian market leader in both recorded music and home entertainment distribution. Included in the agreement will be the physical retail distribution rights for video products in the U.S. and Canadian Christian retail markets, as well as exclusive worldwide rights, including digital distribution, for all recorded music products. Capitol Christian Distribution will begin shipping orders and processing returns on October 1, 2015.

A total of 17 catalog DVD titles will remain with Word Distribution, including ten of Big Idea\’s original VeggieTales episodes, six compilations and the Pirates Who Don\’t Do Anything – A VeggieTales Movie. Word will continue to process orders and returns for these titles.

Beginning October 1, 2015, all single-disc DVD titles will be priced at $9.99 SRP, a reduction for many titles previously priced at $12.99 SRP and $14.99 SRP. Additionally, three new Collectible Tins, Bible Stories, Princess Stories and Christmas Stories will be available this November. At $29.99 SRP, each collection includes 4 DVDs and other bonus content.

Capitol Christian Distribution will kick off Veggie Tales™ annual Christmas Retail Campaign in October with a Celebrate the Joy of Christmas endcap. This promotion provides independent retailers the opportunity to create a unique Christmas shopping zone, and bring key VeggieTales products together for the holiday season. Titles featured include Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas DVD, three Christmas Double Feature DVDs, and four Christmas-themed books from Worthy Media/Ideals.
