68 announces new album, dates with Every Time I Die

American rock duo ’68 is excited to announce their forthcoming album entitled Two Parts Viper. The 10-track record is a compilation of what may be the pair\’s strongest work to date – demonstrating more energy with a guitar and small drum set than an entire live band. Their performance and interplay on stage make for a mesmerizing set. Having toured with the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Every Time I Die, and The Fall Of Troy to name a few and hitting festivals such as Louder Than Life, Carolina Rebellion, AfterShock, and Welcome To Rockville – the alt-rock veterans felt it was time to take a different approach to further define their brand. This time around, Josh Scogin (The Chariot, Norma Jean) and bandmate, Michael McClellan have signed with a new label – Cooking Vinyl America – to launch their full-length album which channels everything from the intensity of At The Drive-In to Jack White-like vocals to a setup similar to The Black Keys. ’68 will be joining a number of Cooking Vinyl America label-mates which includes The Dillinger Escape Plan, Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, Billy Bragg, and Teddy Thompson, while the global division houses artists such as Marilyn Manson, The Prodigy, The Cult, and many more. When asked about the making of Two Parts Viper and signing to Cooking Vinyl America, vocalist/guitarist Josh Scogin said: “This album is unlike anything I have ever written. Although it is only our 2nd full length I tried to make it sound more like our 3rd (or even 4th). Instead of just adding more blocks to the foundation of our debut, I tried to imagine that it was like 5 years down the road and just created something new (for me) from that. Having met with several different labels since our first album, Cooking Vinyl was always our first choice and thankfully they saw something in \’68 as well.  We work really well together.  As an artist, that feels really good to be able to say about your label.” In addition, ‘68 will be hitting the road with Every Time I Die and Wage War this spring. The tour kicks off on April 28th in Wilmington, DE and wraps up on May 20th in Lansing, MI. Shortly after, the duo will be headlining a US tour with Listener beginning May 21st in Garwood, NJ. This will be the first leg of a world tour to come later in the year, making key stops in Europe, the UK, Australia, and Japan.
