3 Years Hollow join tour with Powerman5000 and SOiL
The late spring and early summer will see Imagen Recording artists 3 Years Hollow hard at work once again – hitting the road as part of a must-see bill which will also feature Powerman 5000 and Soil. But first up will be a new single and video issued on May 19th, \”Chemical Ride\” – a strong fan favorite that has already been eagerly spun on a number of stations. \”Chemical Ride\” is the follow up to the band\’s two Top 30 hits, \”Hungry\” and \”For Life.\” Make no mistake about it, 3 Years Hollow is determined to bring back ROCK to the current music scene, and are in it for the long haul.
\”The song \’Chemical Ride\’ sort of has this underdog story going for it,\” recalls 3YH singer Jose Urquiza. \”It\’s the song that we all wanted to be the first single from the record, but looking back, it feels like the first two singles might have been the foundation needed to get this song out to an even larger audience. There\’s never really been a question about which song is the favorite song off of \’The Cracks,\’ and this is it. The song is basically about seizing every single opportunity you have, appreciating the things you have around you, because anything and everything can be taken from you instantly. It was a situation that I had witnessed and was close to and it was something I felt I had to write about.\”
\”That realization really hit me when my good friend and mentor, Rob Cimmarusti, passed away this last year. He was the owner of Real Trax Recording Studios, where we recorded all three of our albums over the past 7 years and where I learned everything I know about music production and recording. I had been so focused on the future, so focused on things that weren\’t even right in front of me, and in the end it cost me a lot of time I could have spent with him. There\’s no doubt his influence will live on in 3YH for the rest of our lives.\”
Kicking off on Tuesday, June 23rd in Ringle, WI and wrapping up on Saturday, July 18th in Arlington Heights, IL, the three-band tour is sure to be one of the summer\’s most rocking. The set of dates (17 shows total) will feature a new 3YH line-up with original members Urquiza, Tony Reeves, Neil Kuhlman being joined by new drummer Ryan Bennett, formerly of Eye Empire.
As Jose explains, \”Heading towards the rest of 2015 we definitely feel this renewed energy within us and around us, including the entire team of people that we work with. For two years, we just went out there on the road and did our best to spread our music and hang out with our fans and friends that come out to the shows. It was one thing we could control in a music business where most things seem a little out of control. We\’re about to go back out and hit some of the same clubs we just played a couple months ago and we can\’t wait!!\”
Ever the road warriors, 3 Years Hollow has been steadily touring and building a massive fanbase, as evidenced by past jaunts with the likes of Saving Abel, Red, Islander, the UPROAR Festival, etc. Soon, fans will be able to see what all the buzz is about concerning 3 Years Hollow – on a concert stage near you.
